We are looking for a

EL\Controls Engineering Manager

Clinton, CT, USA

We are seeking an EL/Controls Engineering Manager for Bausch Advanced Technologies, Inc. to work at our Clinton, CT loc.

Responsibilities
  • Based on ITS, develop programming code to control machine stations using technologies including PLC programming (Siemens & Rockwell) to control process logic/flow; servo drives for motion control complex movements; vision systems to assure product quality (Cognex); safety devices for operator & machine safety using Pilz tech; human machine interface (HMI) design to interact between machine & operators.
  • Once machine is built, transfer software created during development & debug each station of equipment w/ mech dept. Develop safety software to meet safety requirements, including emergency stops, light barriers & magnetic door switches.
  • Review each page of electrical design to ensure each device on machine is functional & meets customer needs; may incl additional programming/parametrization (tech incl: vision system, robot cells, programmable logic controller, HMIs, process recorders, smart sensors.)
  • Support mech team to perform machine runs. Support validation dept to go through all validation protocols & ensure machine is tested, documented, all files have latest changes & are recoverable. After machine approved by customer, ensure equipment is functional as during FAT phase; use software to ensure all devices running (may incl remote or in-person visits.)
  • Tech support for existing machinery based on customer description of problem, prep solution, communicate it remote or in-person. Retrofit existing equipment to update it to meet regulatory requirements: eval impact & viability of adopting new hardware & dev automation software to get machinery functional again.
  • Review & approve customer equipment specifications prior to machine purchase. Department mgmt: Supervise controls dept; Project resource requirements & organize personnel workload based on proj priorities; Departmental training; Conduct annual reviews; Interview and hire new employees as needed. Limited national travel, and limited intnl travel as needed, may be involved to visit customer sites and perform service visits.
Qualifications
  • Must have Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related field; 3 years rel exp in pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing industry; and required skills.
  • Alternatively, must have 5 years rel exp in pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing industry; and required skills.
  • Requires skills (3 years exp) in: PLCs, incl. Bradley and Siemens; Panasonic.
